Q1. Student Account and Password
Answer: All BNBU students are provided with a unified account for accessing campus IT systems.
The account consists of 10 characters:
·The first character is a designated lowercase English letter.
·The remaining 9 characters are the last 9 digits of the student ID.
Example for a student enrolled in 2026:
Student ID: 2612345678
Account: w612345678
Initial password:
·Chinese students: ID Card Number
·International students: Passport Number
(Letters, if any, must be entered in uppercase.)
Security Reminder:
Students are strongly advised to change their password immediately after the first login.
The password requirements are:
·Must contain uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and numbers;
·Length must be between 8 and 32 characters;
·Must not contain account information or spaces;
·Must not be a commonly used password.
Q2. Forgot Password
Answer: If you forget your BNBU account password, you may reset it through the BNBU Portal: https://portal.bnbu.edu.cn
After logging in, select “Forget Password” and complete online verification using the mobile phone number registered with the university system.

Q3. Activating and Using Student Email
Answer: BNBU provides email services for all students.
The email address format is: w612345678@mail.bnbu.edu.cn
Students must first log in to the BNBU Portal: https://portal.bnbu.edu.cn, and complete verification before using the email service.
Whenever the password is changed through the BNBU Portal, students need to verify the updated password once when accessing the email system.
To ensure account security, the password requirements are:
·Must contain uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and numbers;
·Length must be between 8 and 32 characters;
·Must not contain account information or spaces;
·Must not be a commonly used password.

Q4. Sending and Receiving Emails on Mobile Devices
Answer: The university email account can be configured directly on the built-in Email application of mobile phones or tablets.

Q5. Activating WeCom
Answer: BNBU provides WeCom services for students.
Students may refer to the following guide to activate their WeCom accounts:
(Students must have activated their BNBU student email account and use their own mobile phone and WeChat account to scan the QR code for activation.)

Q6. Residence Broadband Service
Answer: Students may choose suitable broadband packages and network providers according to their individual needs.

Q7. Campus Wireless Network
Answer: Wireless network services are available in the following areas:
·Teaching buildings (including LRC);
·Study areas and computer rooms in student residence halls.
The Wi-Fi SSID is:BNBU
All registered students may access the wireless network free of charge by logging in with their BNBU account and password each semester.
The Wi-Fi account format follows the account format described in Q1.
Please note that if the account password is changed, the updated password will take effect for Wi-Fi access on the following day.

Q8. IT Facilities
Answer: A public computer centre is available on campus for all students.
Students may use the computers and access Internet resources in the centre.

·Saturday and Sunday: 09:00 AM – 09:00 PM
(Except public holidays.)
Q9. Information Security
Answer: Students should always pay attention to personal information security.
Please do not:
·Open suspicious links;
·Reply to suspicious emails;
·Provide your account or password information to unknown individuals.
ITSC will never request users’ account passwords or other confidential information.
